I may not be the best person to give advice on wellness, but through the straining process of getting my life together during a global pandemic, I have understood the importance of taking time for my mental health.

Days may feel long and repetitive, and on some days, my motivation is M.I.A. I combat this by taking an hour or two out of my busy workday to rest and refresh my mind. Whether it's cooking, going for a drive, a short nap, or a walk with my dogs, I find time to create a clear space to relieve unwanted stress. You should be taking breaks throughout your day, to listen to your body, hydrate, and refuel.

At the end of your day, take some time to reflect and decompress. Clearing and organizing your space will allow you to start fresh and creates a clean environment to work the next day. Before heading to bed I like to talk with family, perform all my nightly routines, and take a break with my favourite Netflix show or book. I recommend doing something you enjoy to end off your day, just ensure you get to bed at a decent hour as you'll need at least 7 hours of sleep to allow your body and mind to repair.

Stay safe, stay motivated, and take time for your mental health! :)

A MENTAL BREAK
