During the past year of working mainly from home, it’s been easy to feel more isolated. What has really helped me feel better and more connected to my community has been taking walks around my neighbourhood and actively choosing to source as many of the items I purchase from a walkable distance. Whether it’s taking a break to grab lunch from the Japanese restaurant next door, taking a friend to my favourite local spot, or getting bunny treats from a family owned pet store, being able to participate in supporting my community in little ways has really made a difference.
